Rev. Sallie Colwick is a retired ordained Deacon who continues to serve as the Chapel Service pastor on a part-time basis. She has served at Huntsville First United Methodist Church for the past 25 years. Over the years, she has served as Director of Child and Family Ministries, Singles ministry, Director of Christian Education and as Minister of Evangelism, Adult ministries, and Missions. Highlights of her ministry include the establishment of the Singlespace Ministry, which continues to this day as an Older adult Singles group, the establishment of the Susanna Wesley Early Education Ministry (SWEEM), bringing in over 500 new members while serving as the Minister of Evangelism. Her latest assignment has been establishing a new congregation in the chapel especially conducted for persons with physical or mental disabilities. She previously served as Director of Programs at Central UMC in Decatur. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Her seminary work was done at Scaritt Graduate School United Theological seminary and Perkins Theology School at SMU. 

Prior to her call to the diaconate, Sallie worked in social work, public and private education and college/University settings. Sallie is married to Larry Colwick. 

She has two sons, Jeremy (deceased) John and wife, Rena who live in Austin, Texas, grandsons – Mark and Julian who live in Cheyenne, Wyoming and two cats. When she is not working at the church, she enjoys her home in Niceville, FL, volunteering as a Board member for Alabama Non-violent Offenders Org. (ANVOO), cooking, traveling, writing, and singing.
