Volunteer opportunities range from the outgoing greeter or small group leader to the more introverted who are enthusiastic about helping in less public ways.

OPPORTUNITES TO BE AN EVANGELIST FOR GOD
THROUGH THE ALPHA COURSE
Below are some examples of the help needed to make the Alpha Course a success. We will be sure to give you full information before you commit, and thorough training after you volunteer.
____________PRAYER TEAM MEMBER
This team will meet weekly to pray for the Alpha Course, the volunteers, and individuals in the small groups who are in specific need of prayer. Members will also be willing to pray during the week from home.
____________SMALL GROUP LEADERS
The key responsibility is to facilitate discussion in the small groups and to create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel free to ask honest questions about the Christian faith. Fear not, you will not be “teaching.”
____________SMALL GROUP HELPERS
The key responsibility is to assist the Small Group Leaders create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel free to ask honest questions about the Christian faith.
____________GREETERS AND RUNNERS
The Greeters and Runners are very important because they are among the first people the guests will meet. Their key responsibility is to make people feel welcome and glad they have come to Alpha. They help people who are unfamiliar with the church and Alpha feel comfortable.
__________FOOD COMMITTEE MEMBERS
These people volunteer to prepare the food for the 10-week Alpha Courses. A team of two per twenty people would be needed. (eg if we had 40 participants, we would have four volunteers per team.) We would hope to get enough volunteers that each person would only be responsible for one or two nights.
____________THE WORSHIP LEADER
This person oversees all aspects of worship times during the weekly Alpha sessions and the Weekend Away. He/she will be a competent musician and song leader and be versatile with music that appeals both to unchurched and growing Christians.
___________THE WORSHIP TEAM
These people play an instrument and/or sing and prepare for the worship time at the Alpha sessions under the direction of the worship leader.
___________THE BOOK TABLE
A friendly person is needed to sit at the Book Table and sell the Alpha books before & after sessions.
